Historic Northampton preserves a collection of artifacts, photographs and archival documents documenting the history of Northampton.
The collection includes:
Letters, account books and diaries.
Local ephemera: printed matter such as trade cards, restaurant menus, concert programs, catalogs and letterheads/billheads from Northampton merchants, businesses, schools and organizations.
Photographs from the mid-19th century to the 20th century including daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, tintypes, cabinet cards, stereoscopic views and glass plate negatives. The photographs are significant not only for their local subjects but also for their representation of local photographers.
Extensive object collections including costume, textiles, ceramics, kitchenware, furniture, paintings, toys, baskets, music books, medical and fire-fighting tools.
