Celebration of the Establishment
of the Pomeroy Terrace Historic District
Saturday, October 13, 2018
Community Potluck, Walking Tours and the Annual Meeting of the Ward 3 Neighborhood Association
Special viewing of the historic marker donated to the City of Northampton by The William G. Pomeroy Foundation
Ice Cream from Herrell's ~ Games provided by A2Z ~ Supplies from Northampton Rental Center

The recent creation of the Pomeroy Terrace Historic District in Northampton will be celebrated on Saturday, October 13th in a collaboration jointly sponsored by The Ward 3 Neighborhood Association and Historic Northampton.  The celebration will include tours of the new district, a community potluck, and the annual meeting of the Ward 3 Neighborhood Association.
The new Historic District is bounded by the Bridge Street Cemetery, Bridge Street, Pomeroy Terrace, Hancock Street, Hawley Street, and then back on Bridge Street to the cemetery.

A historic marker denoting the district has been donated to the City of Northampton by The William G. Pomeroy Foundation. That sign will be available for viewing at the potluck at Historic Northampton, which will also be attended by a representative of the foundation, which made the sign donation.  The historic marker will be installed on the city's right-of-way at the intersection of Bridge Street and Pomeroy Terrace in the near future.
Creation of the Pomeroy Terrace Historic District has been another priority project of the Ward 3 Neighborhood Association, which has invested many years of work and research to prepare the application that was recently approved by both the Massachusetts Historical Commission and the National Park Service.

A map of the district will be displayed at the event so those attending the celebration can determine which properties are included in it.
