Hestia Mural 35th Anniversary Lecture Series

Picture
The History of Women in Northampton from 1600 to 1980 by the Hestia Art Collective, completed August 1980
In 1980, the Hestia Art Collective completed the mural, The History of Women in Northampton from 1600-1980, in downtown Northampton.  The outdoor mural depicts three centuries of local women's history.  Five artists - Linda Bond, Mariah Fee, Susan Pontious, Rochelle Shicoff and Wednesday Sorokin - designed and painted the mural.

In commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the Hestia Mural, Historic Northampton has invited researchers who have studied the history of women in Northampton to share their research in a public lecture series.
