Historic Northampton trustee Rich West will tell the story of how in the 1820s Northampton’s liberal and conservative Congregationalists struggled to reconcile their theological differences. When they failed, a new church - what is now the Unitarian Society of Northampton and Florence - came into being.
Rich West has lived in Northampton since 1995 and been a trustee of Historic Northampton since 2016. He owns Periodyssey, a business which buys and sells 19th-century American paper. He is the author of five books and the editor of four on his passion, American political cartooning. Pre-registration is required to receive the Zoom link. Sliding scale admission $5-25. |
